Dorothy Linder Elementary School

Fourth Grade

Welcome to 4th Grade, a year full of exploration, growth, and academic achievements! At Linder, our 4th Grade curriculum is designed to align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), providing students with a comprehensive education in key subject areas. Throughout the year, students will continue to build upon their prior knowledge and develop a deeper understanding of core concepts. In Language Arts and Reading, students will further enhance their reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills, while also refining their ability to express their thoughts effectively through writing. Mathematics will expand their understanding of numbers, operations, algebraic thinking, and geometric concepts, sharpening their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. In Science, students will engage in hands-on experiments and investigations, exploring topics such as energy, weather, ecosystems, and the scientific method, fostering their curiosity and scientific inquiry skills. Social Studies will take students on an exciting journey through Texas history, U.S. history, geography, and government, deepening their understanding of our nation and its diverse cultures. Additionally, 4th Grade places a strong emphasis on developing important social-emotional skills, such as empathy, teamwork, and responsible decision-making. Through collaborative projects, interactive lessons, and engaging activities, our 4th Grade students will thrive in an environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Together, we will lay a solid foundation for their future academic success, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their educational journey and become active, informed citizens.
