Dorothy Linder Elementary School

Outdoor Learning

Accourding to our campus partner, 4-H Capital:

"Our Natural Resources program is a hands-on, guided, inquiry-based course uniting science, engineering, technology, and social studies that can be framed within the context of the students' own community. Activities reinforce critical thinking, problem solving, and service learning. Service Learning is an integral part of the Natural Resources program, giving students an opportunity to combine the knowledge and skills they have learned throughout the semester with a community service project designed to improve their local environment and community. This program also introduces students to local resources in their communities where they can enjoy their appreciation for nature. Areas of focus could include: renewable energy, citizen science projects, habitat quality monitoring, local plant and wildlife, recycling, etc."
